How to trade dated futures

Opening a dated futures position

In dated futures contracts, you can place long or short positions across all supported markets.

How to open a dated futures position

To place an order in dated futures trading:

  1. Go to the left-hand navigation and choose Trade.

     

  2. Choose the dated futures market from the drop-down menu. Dated Futures can be identified as <Asset>-USDC-<YYYYMMDD>

  3. Choose Buy or Sell.

  4. Choose the type of order you wish to send. The supported order types can be found here.

  5. Enter the Amount.

  6. Confirm Buy or Sell under the Margin panel.

  7. Confirm Buy or Sell in the Order Confirmation pop-up window to place the order.

How to close a dated futures position

In futures contracts, you can close your position by creating a new contract that will offset the result of the initial position. For example, to be able to close your long position of 1 BTC in the BTC/USDC futures market, you must also enter a short position of 1 BTC in the same market.
