MATIC to POL migration FAQ
On 4 September 2024, Polygon announced that POL will replace MATIC as the native gas and staking token for the network’s Proof of Stake (PoS) chain.
Bullish will support the POL token as an ERC20 on Ethereum and will deprecate its support of MATIC. Customers are encouraged to withdraw MATIC and deposit as POL as early as possible.
Why is MATIC being replaced by POL?
POL is replacing MATIC to provide a more versatile and future-proof token that aligns with Polygon's growth as an aggregated blockchain network. The upgrade aims to enhance the token's utility and ensure it can support the network's expanding roles and services. How will Bullish support this?
Bullish will support the POL token as an ERC20 on Ethereum and will deprecate its support of MATIC in due course.
Both POL and MATIC will be available on the Bullish platform for a period of time as detailed below:

29 October 2024 | Enable trading for POL/USDC and POL/USDC PERP. |
5 November 2024 | Halt MATIC deposits. |
12 November 2024 | Halt MATIC trading (MATIC/USDC and MATIC/USDC PERP). |
TBD | Halt MATIC withdrawal. |
What actions should I take?
Customers can deposit POL anytime after the announcement on 29 October 2024.
Customers are encouraged to withdraw their MATIC by 12 November 2024. See Withdrawing funds from your Bullish account for further details.

What if I deposit MATIC after this date?
Bullish will no longer support MATIC deposit after 5 November 2024. Customers who deposit MATIC after this date, should anticipate delays in accessing their assets.
